Making Your Colour Last

Use a shampoo specifically designed for coloured hair. Others may strip out the colour (see sidebar). Your hair specialist can offer advice on which product is best for you.

Use a conditioner every time you shampoo and have an intensive conditioning treatment at your salon once a month.

Use a wide-toothed comb when combing wet hair. Never use a brush - it will break the hair shaft.

Rinse salt and chlorinated water from hair immediately after swimming. The chemical reaction between lightners and copper in the water can give hair a greenish cast

Gently towel-dry your hair, rather than rubbing vigorously
